Cancer is an illness that crosses all boundaries of age, race and class and there are very few people who have not been touched by it, at least indirectly. In Macmillan’s own words – 

‘No one should face cancer alone. So when you need someone to turn to, Macmillan are there. Right from the moment you are diagnosed, through your treatment and beyond, Macmillan are a constant source of support’.

In 2005, we spent time spent looking into a variety of cancer charities. Time and time again, it was Macmillan that was described in the most glowing terms. Beyond the financial & practical support they give, it is the Macmillan nurses that offer a gift of simple human kindness to people and families in extremis.
